A deft blend of martial arts, acrobatics and self-defense, capoeira (or "dance fighting") was created in the 16th century by African slaves in Brazil, who disguised it as dancing to hide its true purpose: to build slaves' strength for escape. In this instructional program, three practitioners from the group Capoeira Gerais in Switzerland demonstrate their unique version of the increasingly popular art form.
