Ferdinand is in spite of being involved in a mysterious machination, the contours of which are not understood. The characters that revolve around Ferdinando "il duro" seem to be looking for the solution to the never better specified cheating. The ending is far from providing an explanation: Ferdinand finds himself more confused than ever, having witnessed a murder helpless. Murder that is carried out, of course, off the field.
